Edward Derks is the founder and CEO of Kawartha Lakes Windows & Doors . As one of the top sales professionals in the window and door industry, with over 33 years of experience, Ed decided to combine his expertise and knowledge, and created his own company. With the Industry becoming more and more technical, Ed’s attention to detail and his architectural background, provides a solid basis for excellent customer service.

Ed started his career off as an architectural draftsman which is where he developed his passion for the window industry. He has maintained his position as a window and door professional working with different manufacturers and architects, while building and maintaining many long-term relationships with customers.  Ed prides himself on blending his architectural background and window knowledge to provide his customers an aesthetically pleasing outcome. Within the rapidly changing window and door industry, he keeps current on all aspects of the industry and building code. This includes energy performance ratings, window and door styles, exterior and interior finishes, colour and hardware options, that each supplier can deliver.

Ed resides in Peterborough with his wife Mary, and they enjoy family time with their children and grandchildren at their family cottage in the Kawartha’s.
